Renewal, suspension and cancellation of services
Service regulation
1. Service Renewal
Renewal of the Services must be completed no later than the relevant expiration date. If renewal is not completed by such deadline, Hosting Solutions may suspend the Service.
Additional or optional Services (add-ons) may be renewed only if the Primary Service to which they are associated is active.
In order to facilitate the management of renewal deadlines, Hosting Solutions will send the Client reminder notices by email, approximately on the 1st and 15th day of each month, containing the list of Services expiring within the following 15 days.
The settings for receiving expiration notices may be customized by the Client through the relevant area of the control panel.
2. Manual Renewal
If renewal is carried out manually, payment may be made using the payment methods available in the control panel, including credit card, PayPal, bank transfer or postal payment slip.
If the payment method used does not provide for immediate crediting of the amount (for example, bank transfer or postal payment slip), the Client must make payment at least 5 (five) business days in advance of the Service expiration date.
Hosting Solutions does not guarantee continuity of the Service if, due to technical processing times for crediting the payment or the necessary administrative checks, the payment is not recorded by the Service expiration date. Any suspension or interruption resulting from such delays shall not constitute a breach by the Provider.
To facilitate administrative checks, the Client may send proof of payment (for example, a bank transfer receipt or postal payment slip receipt) to the email address amministrazione@hostingsolutions.it.
The Provider’s bank details are available in the website section dedicated to administrative information.
3. Automatic Renewal (Auto-Renewal)
The Client may activate automatic renewal of the Service using one of the following payment methods:
- prepaid credit (PrePay);
- credit card (registered in advance).
In both cases, the system will automatically process the payment 5 (five) days before the Service expiration date, in order to allow time to manage any payment-related issues (for example, insufficient balance or an invalid card).
Before the automatic charge is made, Hosting Solutions will send a reminder to the Client so that the Client may verify the availability of the prepaid balance or payment card and avoid any interruption of the Service.
If the automatic payment is unsuccessful, the system will make further attempts to charge the payment in the days preceding the Service expiration date. If none of the payment attempts is successful by the expiration date, the renewal will not be completed.
Any advance payment made through auto-renewal does not change the original Service expiration date.
4. Service Suspension
In the event of non-payment by the expiration date, Hosting Solutions reserves the right to suspend the Service.
Suspension entails interruption of the Service and may also extend to Additional or connected Services, including by way of example:
- domain names;
- email accounts;
- DNS services;
- host pointers or services connected to the main plan;
- any backups associated with the Service.
The suspension period shall last no longer than 15 (fifteen) days. During such period, the Client may still renew the Service, since suspension does not entail deletion of the related data from the Provider’s systems.
For Services that include a domain name, failure to renew the domain name by its expiration date may result in loss of the domain name, in accordance with the rules applicable to the relevant extension.
5. Service Deletion
If, after the 15-day suspension period has elapsed, renewal payment has still not been made, Hosting Solutions may proceed with the permanent deletion of the Service.
Deletion entails:
- permanent deactivation of the Service;
- deletion of Additional or connected Services, even if they have a different expiration date;
- removal of Service-related data from the Provider’s systems.
Domain names associated with expired Services may not be transferred unless the expired Service is renewed or the domain name is registered separately.
Please note: a deleted Service may not be reactivated or renewed.
Domain names not renewed within a maximum period of 30 days from the expiration date may be permanently deleted in accordance with the procedures established by the competent Registry and become publicly available for registration again.
Reactivation of expired and suspended services
In general, the reactivation of services renewed after the expiry date entails payment for the service from the date of its expiry.
On the other hand, the reactivation of domains (whether or not associated with a service) renewed after the expiry date may entail additional reactivation costs. Specifically:
- .it domains in REDEMPTION: 7 days after the expiry of the service, .it domains enter the REDEMPTION status and the renewal of the service will have an additional cost of € 10 + VAT.
ATTENTION: after 30 days from the expiry date, the service will be cancelled and can no longer be recovered, while the domain will become free for a new registration. - .eu domains in QUARANTINE: at the end of the month in which they expire, .eu domains enter QUARANTINE status for 40 days. They can be renewed by the end of the month of expiry at no additional cost. If renewed after the end of the month of expiry, they will have an additional cost of € 30 + VAT/b>.
ATTENTION: after the 40-day quarantine period, the service will be cancelled and can no longer be recovered, while the domain will become free for a new registration. - .com/net/org/info/biz domains in REDEMPTION:
upon expiry of .com/net/org/info/biz domain names, these domains enter the Grace-Period status, which lasts for 28 days. During this period, the service can still be renewed at no additional cost.
ATTENTION: after the 28 days of the Grace-Period, these domains enter the REDEMPTION status for a further 30 days. During this latter period, renewal of the service has an additional cost of € 250 + VAT. Lastly, beyond the 30 days of REDEMPTION, the service will be cancelled and can no longer be recovered and the domain will become free for a new registration.
